Sunday School

"Children are heritage from God."

Truly, children are a gift from God, a gift that everyone cherishes, loves, and takes care of. As a parent and as an educator, I feel that God has entrusted all of us with a very crucial responsibility of handling this special gift, especially while you are working in children's ministry or Sunday school."

In Psalm 1:3, it says that the righteous person is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in its season, and its leaves do not wither; they prosper in all they do.

As Sunday school teachers or facilitators, we can be the streams of water for children, nourishing them with God's Word and guiding them to grow strong in their faith. Here are some practical tips to help them grow:
- Provide a strong foundation of faith-filled prayer life by activity-based teaching of word of God.
- Foster a culture of questioning and seeking answers about God's Word
- Recognize each child's uniqueness and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Use simple, heart-level language to explain spiritual concepts
- Empower children with responsibilities in church activities like collection of offerings, distribution of promise cards, leading the worship.
- Create innovative prayer experiences, like making prayer walls or taking them on creation walks, to help them encounter God in daily life.
Let's be the streams that are consistent, available and life giving, fostering and nurturing the plants entrusted to us...

God handed me a ball of clay,
Which tenderly grew each passing day.
Each day I watered him, each day I prayed,
Each day he grew with God's word and light, without delay.
Though the world tried to distract him and lead him astray,
I stood up in faith and said, "Everything will be okay.
The delay, the distraction will not stay."
Jesus is our hope and way.
One day, the clay ball will not remain small,
But grow and Christ-like behavior he'll display.

Let's be intentional about guiding children to delight in God's Word and meditate on it, just like the tree planted by streams of water.
